Rebecca Hathaway Nelson, Director of Lakeside Music Ministry—
Rebecca believes that her background in a wide variety of musical styles is an asset for interactive and intergenerational Church Music in the 21st century. She taught high school choral music for seventeen years and has been a Faculty Artist for the Western Stage in Salinas. Rebecca has performed at the Vatican and with many music groups in the Monterey Bay area. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Redlands where she was a featured alumni organist on several occasions for the celebrated Feast of Lights. She completed her Master of Arts degree at Santa Clara University, studying organ with Dr. James Welch. She is delighted to be at Lakeside, and is enjoying working for the first time with her husband and college sweetheart, Pastor Kim Nelson. She has also enjoyed leading the “Bad Girls of the Bible” and “‘Reel” Faith” classes at Lakeside!
