The Rev. Dr. Kim L. Nelson, a native San Franciscan, is the pastor of Lakeside Presbyterian Church located at 19th Ave. and Eucalyptus.  He was also baptized there by the founding pastor, Dr. Harry Clayton Rogers in 1951.  Pastor Kim, as he likes to be called, is also a local high school football official and a volunteer scuba diver for the Monterey Bay Aquarium since 1998.  Kim is married to Rebecca Ann Hathaway Nelson and they are the parents of John  and Katie.  John graduated from Chico State and lives in Florida and Katie, a graduate of Hawaii/Pacific University, is a law clerk for Davis, Wright and Tremaine law firm in The City and is pursuing her teaching credential.

Pastor Kim graduated from the University of Redlands with a major in Religion and a minor in Physics.  Upon matriculation, he entered Princeton Theological Seminary and graduated in 1977.  He was the Assistant Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Stockton, CA from 1977-1980.  He was the senior pastor of the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Salinas, CA from 1980-2005, prior to moving to San Francisco
