Rev. JD Ward -- Director of Christian Education and Family Ministry
Throughout my ministry career I have Struggled with the lack of missional discipleship in resourced communities and confronted by growing needs and injustices, I began to ask two questions: “How can the Church intentionally develop mission servants for the work of the Kingdom?" and “How can the Church develop prophetic communities that offer hope and direction to the lost?"
This passion for the poor and the Church has led me, and those around me willing to risk their security, to learn and create a process that has a chance of igniting the fire of mission into believers and communities. In an attempt to deepen my own understanding, I have lived in urban settings my whole ministry career, finished an MDiv at Fuller Seminary, participated in a 10 month spiritual formation process with Church of the Savior in Washington DC, served two large resourced churches as a Mission Pastor/director for 15 years, entered into a DMin program with Bakke Graduate University, and had ongoing conversations with mentors all over the country who are struggling with the same issue.
