Lakeside Children Center Director: Caroline Emerson Hi, my name is Caroline Bankhead- Emerson and I have had the good fortune to be Lakeside's Children's Center director since July 2005. I am still considered the 'new kid on the block' since many of the other Children's Center staff has been here at least 10 years or more! I have been in childcare since 1991 and more than 15 of those years have been spent directing centers. I have been privileged to be a servant leader at various types of centers. I have worked for corporate childcare and nonprofits. I have worked in affluent neighborhoods and in low-income neighborhoods.
Lakeside Presbyterian Center for Children has a notable and well-deserved reputation in the community and it is my goal to bring all my experience to bear and continue to honor the traditions which have brought the center to celebrate 50 years of serving children in May 2011! Lakeside parents have let us know they appreciate the learning that their children receive here at Lakeside because 2010 is the third time (2009 & 2006) in the center's fifty year history that the center has been voted a 'Family Favorite' Award Winner in Bay Area Parent Magazine's Annual 'Best of the Best' issue as one of San Francisco's best Preschools.
